Tomorrow - A basketball game and the occasion to study geography, linguistics, political science, demographics and cartography.

There will be an international assembly of players at the MC (7-4) v. WC (6-6) game tomorrow in Weatherford at 7:30. The Coyotes come off a victory with the WTC Westerners 75-70 in Snyder on Tuesday. The Chaparrals on Saturday lost to Grayson College in overtime 62-65 in a game played at SMU.

Community college basketball programs look the world over to find good players any where on the globe these days - some across the oceans and some nearby. Midland College has Rodrigue from Abymes, Guadeloupe, Nathan from Cairns, Australia, and Nemanja from Srbinje, Republic of Serbia. Here's the complete list.

Weatherford College has 4 players raised in the towns of Silute, Vilnius and Kretinga, Lithuania (3) and Nitra, Slovakia (1). Here's their roster.

I hope several people make the trip over to Weatherford for a chance to visit with #20, the redshirted Indian world class point guard from the nearby banks of Weaver Creek in Lipan, Texas!

One final observation regarding excellence and where it comes from. Head coach of the No. 6 ranked Texas Aggies is none other than Billy Gillespie from . . . . Graford, Texas, just off the banks of the Brazos River! Even ole Billy has an international recruit, Antanas Kavaliauskas, from Vilnius, Lithuania.
